Arts & Culture in Venice

This tour is designed for visitors who are truly interested in arts who wish to discover the artistic and cultural treasures of Venice.

The tour begins with a visit to one of the most important art museums in the city: the Accademia Galleries, which contains the main collection of Venetian painting, a fascinating journey through the evolution of art in Venice from the 14th to the 18th century.

After the visit to the Academia, there will be a relaxing break along the Zattere to enjoy the best ice cream in the city (or, alternatively, a drink or coffee). The tour will continue on board a private boat for a ride through the canals of Venice to admire gorgeous palaces and discover the various architectural styles.

The tour will continue with the visit of the Scuola Grande di San Rocco (one of the most important Fraternities of Venice), one of the rare social testimonies surviving the fall of the Republic of Venice. Also called “Sistine Chapel of Tintoretto”, the splendid seat of the Scuola dates back to the 16th century. The visit to the Renaissance building will offer the possibility to admire over fifty large canvases painted by Tintoretto, one of the most important painters of Venice.

You will then visit the church of Frari (Franciscan Friars) where you will see the masterpiece of Titian, the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, as well as other paintings by Titian and other Venetian artists such as Paolo Veneziano, Giovanni Bellini and Bartolomeo Vivarini.

Finally, after a walk through the San Polo district, the tour will end at the Rialto Bridge.

On request the tour can provide a short lunch break.
