Venetian Highlights:
the Square, the Basilica of St Mark, Rialto, the off-the-beaten tracks, Murano island and the Venetian Lagoon
This tour features the highlights of Venice: all that you should not miss when
visiting Venice, even if you have little time to spend. We begin with a walk through the Square of
St Mark to outline its most celebrated monuments like the Bridge of Sighs, the
beautiful architecture of the Doge’s Palace and the Renaissance Marciana
Library.
You will then visit the golden Basilica of St. Mark to admire some of its
most precious treasuries: about 90,000 square feet of golden mosaics, the famous
4 bronze horses and the astonishing Golden Screen, decorated with 1,927 precious gems.
You will then continue walking through the backstreets "far from the madding crowd", and discover some of the peaceful corners of the city. You'll see where Marco Polo's house
used to be, and reach Campo San Giovanni and Paolo, one of the most interesting monumental area of the city, to admire the beautiful architectures in the area and the
well-know equestrian monument of Bartolomeo Colleoni.
It'll be now time to board a luxury boat and take a ride through
the Venetian lagoon to discover its natural features, and eventually reach the Island of Murano to see how the outstanding world famous glass is produced.
The celebrated glass masters will show their incredible ability in shaping authentic works of art. There will be some time for shopping, and then return back to Venice.
The play of light on the water surface will
add an incomparable charm to the last part of your tour that will end by St Mark’s Square.
